Astran's Enterprise Connect

Enterprise Connect (EC) provides a comprehensive and feature-rich module for identity and access management. Its advantages include SSO, centralized authentication, flexibility, security features, user self-service, access control, scalability, developer-friendliness, and seamless integration with existing systems.

Advantages of using EC module are multiple :

  • Single Sign-On (SSO): EC provides a seamless SSO experience for users across multiple applications and platforms. Once authenticated, users can access multiple resources without the need to re-enter their credentials.
  • Centralized Authentication and Authorization: EC serves as a centralized identity provider, managing user authentication and authorization for all connected applications. This simplifies the development process and ensures consistent security across the entire ecosystem.
  • Open Source based: EC is based on an open-source solution.
  • Flexible Identity Federation: EC supports various identity federation protocols such as SAML, OpenID Connect, and OAuth 2.0. This enables seamless integration with external identity providers and facilitates secure communication and data exchange between different systems.
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): EC provides built-in support for multi-factor authentication, allowing organizations to enforce additional security measures beyond passwords. This can include methods like SMS verification, email confirmation, or hardware tokens, adding an extra layer of protection against unauthorized access.
  • User Self-Service and Account Management: EC offers self-service capabilities, empowering users to manage their own accounts, reset passwords, and update personal information. This reduces the burden on IT support and improves user satisfaction and engagement.
  • Fine-Grained Access Control: EC provides fine-grained access control capabilities, allowing administrators to define and manage roles, permissions, and policies for different user groups or individual users. This ensures that only authorized users have access to specific resources and functionalities.
  • Scalability and High Availability: EC is designed to be scalable and highly available, enabling it to handle large user bases and high traffic loads. It supports clustering and distribution across multiple nodes, ensuring reliability and performance even in demanding environments.
  • Developer-Friendly: EC offers a range of APIs making it developer-friendly and easy to integrate into existing applications. It provides comprehensive documentation, sample code, and community support, facilitating the development and integration process.
  • Integration with Existing Systems: EC can integrate with existing user directories, such as LDAP or Active Directory, allowing organizations to leverage their existing user management systems while benefiting from EC's advanced features and security capabilities.
